Yakima Canyon & Colockum Pass, Washington

The Yakima River flows through a canyon between Ellensburg and Yakima, paralleled by Washington Route 821. About halfway is Umtanum Recreation Site, where the first of these photos were made. Many of the rest are from along the roadside north to Ellensburg. The Wenatchee Paintbrush was growing north of Ellensburg near Colockum Pass.
