Stenotus lanuginosus</em> var. <em>lanuginosus
Small, often mat-forming, leaves crowded at branch tips. Linear leaves 1–4 in. long, entire, persisting for few years. Leaf densely to sparsely covered with short interwoven hairs, seldom glandular. Flower heads yellow, held individually, showy, with 7–20 ray flowers 1/3–1/2 in. long, center of 25–50 disk flowers. Grows in dry rocky soils, exposed places, from plains to subalpine.
