Stenotus acaulis
Mat from short woody stems with persistent leaves. Leaves mostly at stem tips, oval, 1–4 in. long, with pointed tips, hairless or with short stiff hairs, sometimes sticky. Inflorescence consists of 2 or 3 rows of bracts creating a cup 1/3 in. across, 6–15 ray flowers to 1/2 in. long, 20 or more disk flowers. Grows in dry, rocky, open places in shrublands at high elevations.
