Sweet Marsh Butterweed
Erect stems clustered in clump of basal leaves. Stems hairless. Leaves fleshy, not coated with white film, sharply toothed. Basal leaves on petiole, widely oval, 2–10 in. long, 1–3 in. wide; few stem leaves narrow and sessile near stem top. Inflorescence consists of 8 or more crowded heads; black-tipped bracts create deep cup containing few ray flowers, 40 or fewer disk flowers. Grows in damp meadows, hillsides, at mid to high elevations.
