Raphanus sativus

Erect, rough with sparse, short, stiff hairs. Stems with many branches in upper portion. Basal and lower stem leaves pinnately lobed, the terminal lobe widely oval to round and 4–8 in. long, with short petiole; upper leaves sessile, toothed. Flowers many at stem tops, usually purple, rarely white. Seedpod 1–2 in. long, rounded at base, tapering to long sharp beak pointing upward. Pod does not break between seeds. Common weed of disturbed soils, fields, roadsides, at low elevations.
