Cut-Leaf Cinquefoil
Rosette prostrate to ascending from central taproot. Stems and leaf petioles with appressed hairs. Basal leaves nearly as long as petioles, 6–10 pairs of overlapping leaflets each divided into linear pointed lobes. Flowers in small clusters at stem tips in slightly hairy cups; petals yellow. Stalks recurve with mature seedpods. Grows in low moist alkaline flats, vernal-wet meadows, at low to mid elevations. Var. klamathensis (pictured), Klamath cinquefoil, has spreading rather than appressed hairs, is reported only from Siskiyou County, California.
