Midget Phlox
Short stems spreading to erect, branching, glandular-hairy near top. Leaves lance-shaped, opposite on lower stems, alternate near top. Flowers on separate stalks in clusters at stem ends; tube yellowish, with bright pink or lavender notched lobes. Grows in moist or dry soils at all elevations. Subsp. humilis is as broad as it is high, numerously branched, with shining white hairs and glands; flower has white tube, purple lobes.
