Everlasting Pea
Sprawling from single root. Stems have 2 opposite wings along sides. Leaves short, with wide wings, holding pair of lance-shaped to oval, pointed leaflets; branched tendril coiled at end of leaf midvein. Flowers clustered at top of long flower stalk, 4–15 reddish purple or occasionally white sweetpea flowers. Grows in moist soils along roads, ditches, homesteads, at low to mid elevations. Locally abundant plant throughout Pacific Northwest.
