Gutierrezia sarothrae
Erect small shrub. Stems sprawling to upright, branching, brown at base and green above, gummy. Leaves alternate on stem, narrow to thread-like, sometimes in clusters. Inflorescence single or in small clusters of flower heads, each head with 6–14 flowers. Ray flowers 2–8, disk flowers 2–9. Grows in grasslands, deserts, mountains, in all elevations.
