Erect. Stems hairless or with long spreading hairs. Basal leaves oblong to egg-shaped, 3–6 in. long, with few teeth; stem leaves lance- to egg-shaped and clasping stem, not much smaller than basal leaves. Flower heads single to many at stem top. Ray flowers 150 to many, white or pinkish, somewhat twisting. Disk flowers yellow. Grows in moist places in forests, along streams, at low elevations.
