Erigeron linearis
Tuft of stems and very narrow leaves. Stem bases sometimes tinted yellow or purple. Leaves gray, with stiff white hairs pressed to surface. Basal leaves 1–4 in., linear; few stem leaves are similar, smaller, sessile. Flower heads 1/3 in. across, held individually at stem top above leaves, 25–45 yellow ray flowers, yellow disk. Grows in grasslands, sagebrush, on open rocky slopes, at mid to high elevations.
