Ericameria discoidea

Upright shrub. Stems, twigs white-woolly. Leaves oblong, 1/3–1 1/2 in. long, sessile, coated with gland-tipped hairs. Flower heads in clusters at stem tops, bell-shaped cup created by 2–3 rows of bracts covered with gland-tipped hairs. Flowers composed of 10–26 yellow disk flowers, no ray flowers. Grows on dry rocky slopes, outcrops, at high elevations. Discoid refers to the head being composed entirely of disk flowers. Chrysothamnus humilis is similar, with leafy stems, leafy-looking cup not sticky, 2–4 1/4 in. pale yellow ray flowers.
