Castilleja chrysantha
Clustered. Stems erect, unbranched, hairy. Leaves pointed, not lobed except near stem top. Flower head narrow, elongating with maturity. Flower bracts green, pale yellow, or occasionally pale purplish, rounded and somewhat broader than leaves; upper bracts divided with a pair of lobes on the sides that point upward. Flowers yellow, longer than bracts. Grows in moist alpine to subalpine meadows and slopes, often near edges of lakes, at high elevations.
