Serpentine Arnica
Erect, shiny, hairless. Stems unbranched. Leaves thick, lance-shaped, shallowly lobed or toothed, in pairs along stem. Lower leaves on petioles, upper sessile. Flower head single; 7–10 yellow ray flowers around tight center of disk flowers. Stem, stalks, leaf veins all tinted reddish. Grows on serpentine between 1200 and 5000 ft. Endemic to Klamath Mountains, common within its range.
