Franklin's Sandwort
Mound of many short upright stems. Branches slender, brittle. Leaves sessile pairs on stems, lance-shaped, 1/3–3/4 in. long, sharply pointed at tips. Flower stems unbranched, leafy, few white flowers in dense cluster. Flower petals shorter than long, narrow, pointed sepals. Grows in dry sandy or rocky soils. Var. franklinii has long, tapered narrow sepals much longer than petals. Var. thompsonii has sepals about same length as petals.
